- MMMMkkkkhhhhdddd creates an emulated hard disk file that is usable by
- SoftWindows
-
- _F_i_l_e is created with a size of approximately _s_i_z_eMb. The
- specified _f_i_l_e must not already exist.
-
- _S_i_z_e must be within the range 1 to the 300, expressed in
- units of one megabyte. Once created, the disk can be
- mounted as drive C: or D: using the SoftWindows Open Disk
- panel. DOS's ffffddddiiiisssskkkk command should then be used to create
- appropriate partition tables on the disk. Then the DOS
- ffffoooorrrrmmmmaaaatttt command should be used to format the disk for DOS
- use. Note that if this disk is used as a boot disk without
- this being done the behaviour is undefined.
-
- MMMMkkkkhhhhdddd creates a disk which contains only the information
- actually stored on the disk. The Unix file will then grow as
- data is written to it. It is therefore possible to create a
- 300Mb emulated disk on a Unix disk with less than this much
- space available. If 300Mb of data is then written to the
- disk, a SoftWindows error panel will be displayed when the
- Unix partition becomes full. If this happens some space on
- the Unix drive must be freed or the SoftWindows operation
- aborted.
-
- Disk sizes are rounded to the nearest that can be described
- correctly to DOS.

- The following command makes a hard disk file named _m_y__d_i_s_k
- of approximately 20 Mbytes.
